Introducing D-Hub: practice management, simplified

We're opening up D-Hub — the dental practice management platform that already runs Brecknock Dental and KT Dental every day — to UK practices that want something modern.

D-Hub didn’t start as a product. It started because a UK dental practice needed software that didn’t exist.

For five years, the practice manager at Brecknock Dental had been holding the practice together with a spreadsheet for staff records, WhatsApp threads for leave requests, an email folder for payslips, and a paper diary for lab cases. The off-the-shelf options were either enterprise systems built for a different era, or generic HR tools that didn’t understand a dental practice. So we built something better.

Today that “something” runs the working day for two practices, and a third — Q Dental — is joining as the first to launch on the public-facing D-Hub brand. This is the moment we open it up to the rest of the UK’s dental practices.

What D-Hub does

D-Hub brings the things a UK dental practice actually does — staff, leave, payslips, compliance, lab tracking, payments, ticketing — into one system, designed by people who watched these processes break down in real practices.

  • Staff & HR. A single record per team member: contact details, contract, GDC number, indemnity, training, time off, payslips, documents. Not in five places. In one.
  • Leave. A colour-coded calendar that knows the difference between paid and unpaid leave, and routes cover requests to the right people.
  • Payslips. Drag and drop a payroll export. Employees download from their secure profile. No more “can you resend last month’s payslip”.
  • Compliance. A defensible training matrix with expiry alerts before things lapse — not after.
  • Lab tracking. Barcode-driven, live status, audit trail. The end of paper lab diaries.
  • Payments. Daily reconciliation, with optional Dentally integration.
  • Tickets. Lightweight internal ticketing so nothing dies in WhatsApp.
  • Multi-practice. One system, many sites, clean separation.

What’s next

We’re working on a few things our existing customers have been asking for, in this order:

  1. GDC registration verification — automated monthly checks per clinician.
  2. CQC compliance module — evidence in the right shape when inspectors arrive.
  3. NHS UDA tracking — live progress against contracts.
  4. Indemnity insurance tracking — provider and renewal dates per clinician.
